The 12th edition of Qatar Ferjan League concluded on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with Umm Salal winning the title. Despite securing the championship one round before the end, Umm Salal lost their final match 3-2 to Al Maida, who finished second, just one point behind the champions.
After the match, Aspire Zone Foundation, represented by Mr Ahmed Mohammed Al Hassan, Hamad Yousef AlObaidly, Idrees Mohammed AlSharshani, Fahad Ahmed AlMana and Sheikh Mohammed Fahad AlThani, awarded 14 prizes in the Qatar Ferjan League as follows:
- Best Team Award: Khalifa City Team
- Best Manager Award: Hazem Issam Al Hajar from Al Markhiya Team
- Best Player Award: Captain of the Leabaib Team, Haitham Abdel Hamid Al Alliyah
- Fastest Goal Award: Ali Jamaleddine, Al Maida Team
- Best Goal Award: Ahmed El Sayed Al Sayyad, Goalkeeper of Khalifa City Team
In recognizing the standout players in their positions:
- Best Midfielder Award: Abyouchti Juwane Amuzi, Al Maida Team
- Best Goalkeeper Award: Ahmed Al Sayed Al Sayyad, Khalifa City Team
- Best Qatari Player Award: Mohammed Fares Al Shammari, Al Maida Team
- Best Player of the League Award: Skeikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Umm Salal Team
- Top Scorer Award: Ali Jamaleddine, Al Maida Team
The top three teams were honored:
Khalifa City Team received bronze medals for third place, Al Maida Team received silver medals for second place, and finally, Umm Salal Team was crowned the league champion for the current season.
The 18th and final round began on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with Leabeab defeating Al Gharafa 3-2 and securing fourth place, ahead of Al Gharafa, who finished fifth in the overall standings. Meanwhile, Al Sadd defeated Ain Khaled 5-2, taking sixth place, while Ain Khaled settled for ninth and last place.
The round continued the next day with a single match between Al Hilal and Al Markhiya winning 6-3, placing seventh in the league, while Al Hilal finished eighth.
Thus, the curtain fell on this popular and enthusiastic competition, which enhances sportsmanship and social interaction among various segments of Qatari society. Although it is the most important event in the Ferjan competitions, it is not the only one, as we are just few days away from the Golden Square Cup, which features the top four teams in Qatar Ferjan League (Umm Salal, Al Maida, Khalifa City, and Leabib).
Following this is the Qatar Ferjan Cup, which includes all the clubs participating in the league, with the winner earning a ticket to the Super Ferjan Cup to face the Qatar Ferjan League champion in the final event of the 2023-2024 Ferjan season.
These numerous and diverse popular competitions reflect the organizing committee’s commitment to showcasing the talents and capabilities of Qatari youth and residents. They aim to integrate these talents into a social framework that benefits everyone, extending the continuous development and progress in Qatar day by day.
