Aspire Zone Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with Qatar Cancer Society to support and organise the third edition of Relay for Life Qatar 2026. The event will take place on Friday, 30 October, at Aspire’s Olympic Hall. The agreement reflects the two organisations’ joint efforts to strengthen social responsibility, foster solidarity with people living with cancer and their families, and raise awareness of prevention and early detection.
The agreement builds on the cooperation between the two organisations and their commitment to bringing together their efforts and resources to deliver humanitarian and community initiatives that promote public health and quality of life. It also aims to provide a supportive environment for people living with cancer and survivors, reflecting the values of solidarity and mutual support that characterise Qatari society.
Under the agreement, the two parties will work together to support the event’s organisational and logistical requirements and coordinate efforts to create an inclusive environment for participation by different segments of the community. This will help achieve the event’s objectives and strengthen its humanitarian and awareness-raising impact.
Statements from the partners
Mr Abdullah Nasser Al-Naimi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Aspire Zone Foundation, said: “Our partnership with Qatar Cancer Society reflects Aspire Zone Foundation’s commitment to its role in the community and its support for national initiatives that promote health awareness and encourage early detection and prevention. In line with our responsibility to the community, we are committed to using the Foundation’s capabilities and facilities to support initiatives that create a positive and lasting impact, enhance quality of life and strengthen the principles of social responsibility.”
“Hosting Relay for Life in 2026 and 2027 is a continuation of this commitment and demonstrates the importance of coordinated efforts among national institutions in supporting health and humanitarian causes. Through this partnership, we look forward to expanding community participation and encouraging different organisations and institutions to contribute to these initiatives, helping raise health awareness and reinforce solidarity and mutual support in Qatari society.”
His Excellency Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society, said: “Our cooperation with Aspire Zone Foundation is a model of effective institutional partnership that can turn social responsibility into humanitarian initiatives with a lasting impact.”
“The signing of this agreement reflects our belief in the importance of complementary roles among national institutions in serving the community. It also affirms that addressing cancer is not limited to medical and treatment aspects; it also includes psychological and community support for people living with the disease and their families, and helping them feel that they are not alone on this journey.”
“The event carries a humanitarian message that goes beyond raising awareness of the disease. It embodies hope, solidarity and a celebration of life. We value Aspire Zone Foundation’s cooperation and its role in supporting this initiative, which will help us reach wider segments of the community and strengthen a culture of community participation in supporting cancer patients and survivors.”
The third edition of Relay for Life is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including people living with cancer, survivors and their families, as well as representatives of companies and institutions and members of the wider community. The event will include a community walk, interactive and family entertainment activities, and segments celebrating stories of hope and recovery, as well as honouring the memory of those who have lost their lives to cancer.
